The existing structure was purchased at auction for $3,000.00 and moved from its former site in Los Angeles to the current location near Founder’s Oaks in 1927.

It was operated for several decades by the Methodist Church as a retreat center named Aldersgate, before being acquired by Seven Arrows School.

The structure suffered damage in the 2025 Palisades wildfire, and is being restored.
